South India Religious Tour

Duration : 12 Days

Day : 1 Chennai
On the 1st day of your arrival in Chennai, our representatives assist you to check into a hotel. Chennai is known as the gateway to southern India. After lunch at hotel, you proceed for half-day sightseeing tour, visiting Gandhi Memorial, Kala Kshetra, Mylapore temple and Marine beach. In the evening you come back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day : 2 Chennai
On the 2nd day, after breakfast, you proceed to Tirupathi. Tirupathi is a temple town known for the famous ancient temple of Lord Venkateswara on the top of Tirumala hills. In the afternoon, you take lunch at a local restaurant and later come back to the hotel.

Day : 3 Chennai- Kanchipuram-Mamallapooram
Next day, after breakfast, proceed to Kanchipuram by road, the ancient capital of the Pallavas dynasty, famous as a city of 1000 temples. In the afternoon, you can take lunch at local restaurant and later drive down to Mamallapooram and check into a hotel. At night dinner will be served and overnight stay at hotel.

Day : 4 Mamallapooram- Tiruvannamalai- Pondicherry
On the 4th day, after breakfast, you drive to Tiruvannamallai, a pilgrim centre with an ancient temple of Lord Shiva. After lunch at local restaurant in the afternoon, proceed to Pondicherry. Once reached, check into a hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

Day : 5 Pondicherry
After breakfast in the hotel, visit Aurobindo Ashram, which is 10 kms north of Pondicherry. In the afternoon after lunch, you can sightsee Auroville, a unique experiment in international living and in creating a new environment where men and women of all nationalities live together in harmony. In the evening, you return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day : 6 Pondicherry- Chidambaram- Tanjore
In the morning after breakfast, you drive to Chidambaram, which has the famous Nataraja temple with the root of the sanctum sanctorum covered with golden plates. In the evening come back for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day : 7 Tanjore- Trichy
After breakfast, you start for Trichy, (Trichurapalli) situated on the banks of Kaveri River. Once reached, you check into hotel. After lunch, visit Ranganath temple at Srirangam, Rock fort and its temple and Jambukeshwar Temple. Later, you return to the hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

Day : 8 Trichy- Madurai
After breakfast, start for Madurai and check in at a hotel. After lunch, you visit Meenakshi temple, King Tirumala's palace, Great tank and Gandhi museum. In the evening, you return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day : 9 Madurai
Next day, after breakfast, you start for Rameshwaram, the most sacred temple town of India. In the afternoon, you take lunch at a local restaurant. Later, you return to Madurai for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day : 10 Madurai-Trivandrum
On the 10th day of the tour, after breakfast, you drive to Trivandrum. After reaching there, check into a hotel. You get the entire afternoon to relax at your leisure.

Day : 11 Trivandrum
After breakfast, you start for Kanyakumari, the Southern tip of India. You visit the major tourist attractions that are Vivekananda Memorial, Kanyakumari Temple etc. At night you return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day : 12 Trivandrum - Home
On the last day of the your, after breakfast, you proceed to the airport to board the flight to reach back home.
